چکیده
Sanal gerçekliğin ruh sağlığı alanında kullanımı, bilgisayarlı modeller yoluyla insan algılarının yapay nesne ve yerlerle gerçekte varmışçasına değiştirilmesine dayalıdır. gerçeklik maruz bırakma terapisi, güvenli, ekonomik kontrol edilebilir bir yöntem olması nedeniyle tercih edilmektedir. Diğer yandan sanal uygulamalarının geliştirilmesinin karmaşıklığı, kullanılan donanımların yüksek maliyetli kullanımının neden olduğu olası yan etkiler, bazı sınırlılıklara olmaktadır. Bu özellikle çocuklarla yapılan görece daha geç başlamasına olmuştur. derleme makalesi kapsamında hem yetişkinlerle de yürütülen çalışmalara yer verilmektedir. makalede ilk olarak terapisinin ne açıklanmış, ardından terapisi ile sıklıkla çalışılmış olan özgül fobiler, kapalı alan açık korkusu, sosyal fobi, travma sonrası stres bozukluğu, obsesif kompulsif bozukluk, dikkat eksikliği hiperaktivite bozukluğu otizmde temelli uygulamalar ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra uygulamaları, etkililikleri, yararları, zararları sınırlılıkları açısından değerlendirilmiştir.
